PSL Beams

PSL, which stands for Parallel Strand Lumber is an engineered wood product which makes up most of Rock Bottom's structure below the floor.


As you can see above, the many small strips of wood are orientated along the length of the beam, making it very stiff and strong over large spans. This particular beam sticks out past the building four feet to pick up the exterior deck. To shed water, we cut a slope of 1/4" per 12" out of the top of the beam.
