Single Layer House Wrap
Much like modern performance outerwear, a home wrap is designed to block water and air ingress, yet allow any moisture within to escape. Gore-tex for your home, if you will. In the case of the Quesnel Drive house, Tyvek is the wrap of choice because of its durability - it is very difficult to tear, which must be avoided during instillation.
Of note in the picture below is the taped seams to protect against air ingress and waterproof peel-and-stick membranes under the windows.
